REGISTRATION FOR THE HOME INSPECTOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

To register for the course, students must visit our location in person and bring a valid picture ID along with a form of payment. All necessary forms will be provided during registration. At that time, students will receive a course overview and the required textbook, Principles of Home Inspection: Systems and Standards, 3rd Edition (2018), which is 1080 PAGES.

Walk-In Registration

🚫 Walk-In Registration is unavailable from December 7th through January 3rd due to holiday closure. Registration will still be available by appointment only during this period. Walk-ins will resume Sunday, January 4th.

Rolling Admissions

Students also have the option to register on any “ROLLING ADMISSION” START DATE  by arriving 30 minutes before the class starts, without needing an appointment. For subsequent classes, students can choose to attend either online through Zoom or in person.

Students must have a government-issued photo ID and some form of payment to register.

REGISTRATION REQUIRMENTS

The following are required to register:

  • Picture ID (current driver’s license, any state or government ID, or passport)
  • Initial payment for registration and tuition fees (accepted forms of payment include cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards.) Students receiving financial aid (e.g. NJ unemployment, etc.) or who have a student loan should bring documentation of such when registering. 

Requirements / Competencies Prior to Enrollment

Entrance Requirements:

  1. All students must be at least eighteen (18) years of age on or before the first day of class.
  2. Students must possess a High School Diploma or a General Education Development (G.E.D.) Diploma. The High School Diploma or G.E.D. may be obtained from an institution in any country. Students must be able to show this when applying for their license.

To enroll and become licensed as a Home Inspector in New Jersey, you need:

  • Social Security Number
  • Proof of Citizenship / Immigration Status
    Federal law limits the issuance or renewal of professional or occupational licenses or certificates to U.S. citizens or qualified aliens.
  • You can not have any medical condition which may prevent an applicant from practicing as a Home Inspector.

Immigration Requirments

Federal law limits the issuance of professional and occupational licenses to United States citizens or qualified aliens. All professional and occupational licensing boards within the Division of Consumer Affairs (Division) use the Federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (“SAVE”) Program to verify the immigration status of applicants in order to ensure compliance with Federal Law.

If you are not a United States citizen or alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence in the United States, you will be required to submit documentation to permit the Division to verify your immigration status through the use of the SAVE Program. Therefore, if you are not a United States citizen you will be required to submit the following documents.

It is requested you provide the following information:

  • A copy of your current (NOT EXPIRED) passport showing the photo page and page indicating your most recent status in the United States
  • The Most recent documentation regrading your immigration status that you received from the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.); and
  • A copy of your Employment Authorization Card or Document, or Permanent Resident (Green) card, if issued.
